Farewell Letter from Superintendent Vicki Brunn with a photo of Vicki and the VWCS circle logo

It's official! Saturday was my first day of retirement. It has been a joy and a pleasure to serve as superintendent of Van Wert City Schools these past two years. In a way, the past two years have passed by in a lightning-quick fashion....and in other ways, it seems like I've been part of Van Wert for a lifetime. That is, in large measure, because of the warm reception I have been given by the entire community. Van Wert is a very special community filled with warmth and compassion. If you have always lived in Van Wert, you may not realize how special you all are. I have never lived in a community that is as caring and supportive! Some specific examples that immediately come to mind include the active churches, the summer Y programs for our children, the active county-wide Family and Children First Council, and the backpack program. There are so many more but the driving force behind all of these is the fact that people in Van Wert truly care about the welfare of all people and care enough to step up and take action. Thank you for all you do for our children and never stop caring! Thank you for allowing me to be part of it all. I am happy to be moving closer to my children and grandchildren, but I will never forget my time in Van Wert and I will be a Cougar for life!

Farewell,
