Principal's Message

Hello, and welcome to the Van Wert Elementary School website. We would like to take the time to introduce ourselves. Justin Krogman is the serving principal at Van Wert Elementary School. Mr. Krogman was the assistant principal for 3 years here at VWES and is now entering his sixth year as the principal at Van Wert Elementary. Mr. Krogman has been working in education for over ten years now. After graduating from Van Wert High School, Mr. Krogman attended Wright State University Lake Campus to acquire his BA in Early Childhood Education. He then gained his 4th/5th grade Endorsement through Ohio State University branch located in Lima. After doing so, Justin then pursued and obtained his Master’s Degree and principal license through the Educational Leadership Program from the University of Dayton. Prior to becoming the assistant principal at Van Wert Elementary, Mr. Krogman was an elementary teacher in several districts, including: Sidney, Piqua, and Celina. Justin is thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to return home to the Van Wert City School District and give back to the community that gave him so much growing up.

Tracy Wehner is the assistant principal at Van Wert Elementary School. Mrs. Wehner was a fourth grade teacher for two years at VWES.  Tracy is entering her 22nd year in education. She attained her BS in Elementary Education from Otterbein University. Mrs. Wehner acquired a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Teaching from Bowling Green State University. She obtained her principal licensure through the OAESA SAIL program obtained through Concordia University Chicago. Prior to teaching in Van Wert, Mrs. Wehner was an elementary teacher with Lima City Schools. Tracy is excited to continue to share her love of learning with the students, families, and staff of Van Wert Elementary.
